Maker Faire is the world's largest innovation show, a showcase for invention, creativity and enterprise. It is the celebration of the maker movement, the place where people of all ages come together to show what they are doing and share what they are learning in the field of 'Industry 4.0' technologies.
Maker Faire Rome - The European Edition is the largest Maker Faire outside the US and the second largest in the world in terms of visitor numbers. Our project 'Silk Chain' participated in four editions, obtaining for three consecutive years (2016 - 2017 - 2018) the "Maker of Merit - Blue Ribbonthe certificate of appreciation issued by the organisers and the American parent company Maker Media to projects that stood out for their originality, innovation and potential.
MAKER FAIRE 2019
Exhibition of our 'Silk Chain' project with the second generation of burr-processing machinery (reel, reeling machine, twisting machine, spooling machine), with a photographic description of the initial stages of the production chain (jasiculture and silkworm breeding) and with OUR SILK THREAD MADE IN ZAGAROLOlacework using the 'bobbin' craft technique.
Project presented with some students from ITIS 'George Boole' of Genazzano at the end of the Pathway for Transversal Skills and Orientation (PCTO) carried out in the company. The students promoted the project by narrating the phases of the silk production chain, explaining the operating principles of the production process, and giving a demonstration of the process to the public at the fair.
